After a good night's sleep our guest can look forward to breakfasts in our spacious breakfast room. Breakfasts include a "full Scottish" with bacon and sausage, potato scones, fried eggs and black pudding (although the black pudding is not obligatory). Our bacon, sausages, black pudding and potato scones are from Callaghans, an independent and long established award winning butcher in Helensburgh. The eggs are "produced" 200m from Ashfield House at Succoth Farm. Vegetarians and vegans needent miss out on a "full Scottish" and we always have vegan sausages and haggis available. We are proud to serve Argyll Coffee Roasters fresh ground coffee at breakfast and in the rooms.
We also serve smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and fresh kippers. The smoked salmon and the kippers are from the renowned Loch Fyne, internationally famous for its fish and seafood, and smoked in Tarbet on Loch Fyne. And we've just added (vegan friendly) pancakes and maple syrup to the menu, in recognition of Cristina's American heritage..
Fresh home-made bread, made using organic flour, and a toasting station are provided in the breakfast room, along with fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereals. Soya yogurts and almond milk are available on request if you don't want any dairy products. The honey is award winning and produced locally here in Arrochar. We make our own marmalade and our jams are either made by ourselves (from the plum tree in the back garden) or sourced locally.
We also make our own “welcome treats” to be found in your room upon arrival. Again, all ingredients are locally sourced where possible.
We have a comfortable sitting room for the use of our guests - a calm and warm place to relax after a day exploring the Arrochar Alps or perhaps travelling further afield. There are books on the local area to read, novels to loose yourself in, and games to have fun with.
We welcome all guests with a complementary single malt whisky (and to choose from a selection of local malts or perhaps a sherry if whisky is not to your taste) and invite them to relax in the sitting room, unwind by the fire and enjoy the amazing loch views.
Our guests are welcome to use the large front garden and seating area, with sweeping views down Loch Long and across to Beinn Narnain and The Brack (the garden is great for yoga in the mornings - as one of our guests has already enjoyed). Cushions and blankets are available if needed. There is a fire pit and a good supply of wood for those chilly evenings.
We have also just bought a couple of bikes and our guests are welcome to borrow these (and helmets and locks) if you would like to. We only have 2 bikes so please let us know if you would like to reserve these for your stay.
There is private off street parking at Ashfield House for all guests, and secure bike storage, including for motorbikes, if required.
