This b&b far exceeds expectations, it is an extremely high standard of accommodation and is fitted and decorated to fit its beautiful surroundings. Cristina has thought of everything, down to bathrobes and luxury toiletries. All the above and delicious breakfasts conspire to deliver one of the finest welcomes and stays in Scotland. Make your first, second, third... time visit to Scotland the greatest time.

Everything was perfect. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating, the home was beautiful, and the scenery was picturesque. Spending two nights here was the highlight of a two week holiday. We were blessed with good weather, but the hike up the Cobbler was wonderful and highly recommended. The views were spectacular.

This was one of the most helpful couples I have ever experienced whilst staying in guest house's throughout my 45 years of travelling the UK. Nothing was too much trouble and it was obvious they had done all the research prior to opening, resulting in all our questions and concerns being dealt with promptly. It was areal pleasure meeting Cristina. Great holiday break.Everything you need is provided at Ashfield House. Cristina can arrange bookings for the Local restaurants in advance.Be prepared to be blown away by the views from the Loch View room. Probably one of my best hotel views ever.
Ashfield House is very well appointed and Cristina, the host, could not have been more welcoming. The facilities are excellent, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay while exploring the area. Printed information is provided both in the rooms and on a leaflet rack, but Cristina has a superb knowledge of the area, and nothing was too much trouble to meet our inquiries. From suggesting, ( and even booking a table) local restaurants, to advising places to visit and providing routes to get there! First Class - we would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to anyone.

This is a really nice place to stay. Comfortable and beautifully appointed. The hospitality is excellent and breakfasts first class. We traveled by rail, and stayed 3 nights for a walking holiday. Our hosts were very helpful, including making restaurant bookings. We hope to return.

This B&B is perfect. May be one of the best I've ever seen. The Loch View room is beautiful with a wonderful view, a charming decoration and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious and our host Cristina was very considerate and gave us good advices. A great experience !

We were very impressed with everything. Cristina has a gift for hospitality and attention to detail which makes you feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. She really wants her guests to enjoy their stay. The house is lovely, tasteful and with beautiful views. The food excellent, home made, locally sourced with special diets catered for. We especially liked that it is a small business which makes it feel very personal.

My second stay here with my wife and we can't rate Ashfield House highly enough. Everything is just perfect from the delightful decor to the friendliness of Cristina. The bedrooms are of a very high standard, both in decor and cleanliness. The Loch view and Mountain view bedrooms have a beautiful view down Loch Long with the mountains on either side. There is a good choice of breakfast which also caters for vegetarians. For anyone looking to stay in the Arrochar area then I would recommend Ashfield House. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. My wife and I will certainly be back.

Stayed one night in the loch view room, was welcomed by Cristina and shown to our lovely room. It was everything I expected and more, it was spotlessly clean with good quality furniture and bedding and she had left welcome treats on the side to enjoy with a drink. She had thought of everything to make our stay very comfortable. There was a bottle of water and plenty of tea coffee ect. The bathroom was great lovely toiletries and fluffy white towels and to top it all a loo with a view. The bed was exceptionally comfy and the house very quiet so a lovely quality sleep. We woke to the most amazing view from the window, the pink sky had warmed all the lovely autumn colours on the trees and the mountains and had reflected on the loch. Breakfast was a feast of good quality kippers, smoked salmon and free range scrambled eggs made to order. Also Christina's home made bread and preserve. She was a perfect host and the house is truly lovely, the only disappointment was only staying one night....thank you Cristina
From the moment we drew up outside the door to be welcomed by name by the owner, Cristina, we knew we were going to love our stay at Ashfield House. It is one of the very best B&Bs we've ever been to. Everything is beautifully decorated and presented, with dozens of thoughtful touches to make the visitor feel at home. Our bedroom was gorgeous, with a view down the loch which constantly changed as sun or rain swept through and the tide rose and fell. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept like logs through very stormy winds on one night, despite Cristina's anxieties for us. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice of locally sourced and often home-made food. I stuck to smoked salmon and scrambled egg every day because I love it, but my husband enjoyed three different hot dishes. He particularly loved the kipper he chose on the first morning. Every day Cristina was really helpful with suggestions of local attractions and restaurants. She has a courtesy taxi pick up arrangement with the famous Loch Fyne restaurant twelve miles away. This saved us the anxiety of the return drive in the dark over unfamiliar mountain roads and it was definitely worth a visit as the sea food there was superb. One feature we particularly liked was the guest sitting room, beautifully furnished, candle-scented in the evening and well supplied with books. We spent a lovely last evening there with another couple staying, chatting over a whisky or two. This is a B&B to which we will certainly return when next we holiday in the Loch Lomond area.

We stayed at the Ashfield House B&B for two nights in June and it was the best two days we ever had in Scotland. This B&B is absolutly perfect! Lovely rooms, friendly owner and a charming living room. And my highlight: a full vegan Scottish breakfast. We will come back! Thank you so much!
- Stefan and Sarah, Germany
We had 2 nights in this B&B a few weeks ago as part of a longer trip in Scotland and they were the two most enjoyable nights of the week. Cristina is an excellent host, starting from your initial booking confirmation and suggesting places to eat to the welcome on arrival. The loch view room that we had was equal to any hotel we have previously stayed in - just with a better view! Breakfast was excellent with quality local produce. The extra touches make this a very worthwhile visit. We hope to be back!
-Steven and Sinéad, Lisburn
We stayed for three nights and loved everything about this beautiful B&B.The welcome from Cristina and personal attention to ensure a happy stay were superb. Our room was lovely, with a stunning view straight down the Loch and very comfortable bed. We really enjoyed the delicious breakfasts including home-made or locally sourced ingredients. The lounge available for guests was another bonus. Ashfield House is a gem. We will certainly stay again when next travelling to this part of Scotland.
- Judith and Ed, Seaford
I loved my stay at Ashfield House. Cristina was very friendly, warm, welcoming and chatty. She gave good directions ahead of arrival and thinks of the little details that make your stay comfortable. The house is beautiful; the renovation has been done exceptionally tastefully and to high standards. There are some welcome homemade nibbles waiting in your room along with a sherry or whisky in the guest lounge. Breakfast is delicious too, with good choices. I'd love to come back another time.
- Laura, Tidworth
One of the nicest places we have stayed. We were made to feel very welcome and will definitely stay again. Christine went out of her way to make our stay a memorable one as we were staying for our honeymoon. The views from our room was amazing.
- Gavin and Carly, Oxfordshire
A beautiful house in great location with great views. Beautiful decor , comfortable beds. Superb facilities for guests to use including lovely sitting room with books and information. A vast dvd collection available.
Excellent breakfast with a varied selection on offer using quality local produce. Excellent value for money.
Cristina is a fabulous host who made us feel really welcome , for whom nothing was too much trouble and able to provide lots of useful local information.
- Paul, Northampton
The perfect B&B ... views are amazing from the house and the location is excellent. The rooms and house are spotless and beautifully decorated. Cristina is an excellent host and cooks the most delicious breakfast of locally sourced food. Very high standard.
- Michelle, Woodford Green
**Highly Recommended** - A beautiful House in an Idyllic spot with fantastic views across Loch Long. The room was impeccable in both decor and cleanliness. The breakfast was great with plenty of options. Cristina was superb and couldn't do enough for you, really made us feel welcome and where very knowledgable about the area, places to visit and also venues to eat and drink. Together this made our visit to the Highlands very special indeed, we will carry some fantastic memories for many years to come, and thoroughly look forward to returning... Very Soon.
- Simon, Swindon
Exceptional Guest house with unique features such as home-made cakes on the tea tray and locally sourced produce. Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds and stunning views - this was by far the nicest place we stayed during our week in Scotland.
- Claire, High Wycombe
My husband and I stayed at Ashfield House for three nights. It was a very pleasant stay! Cristina is a very kind and attentive owner, the house is beautiful and super clean, the breakfast was also very good. :)
- Giorgia, Italy
An absolutely stunning few days spent in Ashfield house. The twin forest view room had a wonderful view and was maintained to an excellent standard. Cristina couldn't have been a more attentive and friendly host.
- Jack, Birmingham
Ashfield House was one of the nicest places we every stayed in, it is superbly decorated and gives you a homey feel instantly; Cristina was extremely helpful with everything, from organizing a table for dinner to giving useful advice on hiking trails in the area, we loved every minute there and strongly encourage everybody to come to Ashfield House at least once! Hopefully we get the chance to come back one day.
- Daniela, Germany
We stayed with Cristina for 4 nights and each one felt like a real luxury! The room was beautiful and the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a lovely mix of local produce all cooked to perfection. (I can highly recommend the homemade blackcurrant jam). Nothing was too much trouble. Christina gave us some great suggestions of things to do in the local area and we felt really at home.
- Emma, Birmingham
My partner and I knew we wanted to stay here the minute we walked in, the house is spotless and Cristina was very welcoming. Ashfield house is situated in a beautiful spot. Good choice for breakfast with cereals, fruit, yoghurts, preserves also a choice of cooked breakfasts. Well worth a visit.
- Liverpool, UK
Thank you so very much, such lovely people, very clean and nothing was to much trouble at all, such lovely hosts. Great place to stay, lovely views , and walking distance for the local restauarants
- Gillian, UK
One of the best B&Bs I've ever visited. The owners are so nice and they invest so much passion into their house and guests. It was hard to leave after our great stay and we hope to visit the Ashfield house sometime again. Thank you!
- Sebastian, Germany
Really enjoyable stay in this spacious home. Friendly hostess has put thought into the decor and facilities. Would definitely come back here to stay next time we visit Arrochar. Breakfast included gluten free options, fresh fruit and nuts, as well as cooked options. A nice option was a free lift to the Loch Fyne restaurant for an evening meal, and a dram on the house when we got back also gave the opportunity to try a local malt.
- Alison, Banff
We recently spent a night at Ashfield House when breaking our journey to Skye. The house is beautifully appointed with a stunning view of the loch. Cristina is a very attentive and welcoming host. It is the little details that made our stay so special. Cristina booked a table for us at the local pub and provided us with umbrellas when we decided to walk rather than accept a lift. There were delicious home-made sweet treats in our room and the generous offer of a complimentary drink of whisky or sherry in the comfortable lounge. The breakfast was plentiful and included home-made bread and preserves, fresh fruit, yoghurt and high quality locally sourced sausages and black pudding. We were sorry we couldn’t stay longer but will definitely return on our next trip to Scotland.
- Christine, Halifax
We absolutely loved our stay with Cristina, we only wish we had planned to stay longer. The house is beautiful and feels very homely. The room we stayed in had beautiful loch views and the bed was unbelievably comfy. In the room was left some lovely homemade treats which was a lovely touch. We would definitely like to return to Ashfield house again and will recommend to friends and family.
- Danielle and Alex, London
The only thing we could not appreciate was... the rain! The house is attractive and very well decorated, the room is confortable, the view on the loch is great. And the breakfast is so good!
Thanks again for your kindness.
- Odette and Alain, France
Ashfield House was a wonderful refuge in our busy traveling schedule. Cristina was so helpful, and Cristina's breakfasts were delicious. The house was beautiful and comfortable; very luxurious. A real gem!
- Christine, US
Our biggest disappointment was that we only stayed one night, on the way home. We could have quite happily stayed for a week. This place is something else. A large impeccably restored house on the edge of Loch Long just outside Arrochar. It's spotlessly clean and fabulously furnished. The rooms are amazing and the bathroom huge. Everything is brand new. Cristina has great taste and the breakfasts are terrific. Hope to return again. Highly recommended.
- Philip, Liverpool
We visited as part of a trip up the west coast from Glasgow. Incredibly high standard bed and breakfast - the photos on the website do not do the beautiful interior justice! Cristina is a great host and very knowledgeable about the local area. Would definitely recommend.
- Nathalie, Glasgow
Wow, so impressed by this B n B. It is so unique and stylish with amazing views down Loch Long. The service could not be faulted - we were treated like a King and Queen from arrival to departure. If you go to Arrochar, you must stay at this place! By far the most wonderful B n B experience I've ever had.
- Holly, UK
Cristina has clearly put in a lot of effort to make the house immaculate. No expense has been spared to make every detail of this house and the experience a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the Mountain View room but I can confirm this includes excellent views across the Loch too. The house if perfectly located, providing views from the top of the glen straight down Loch Long. In the living room there were an assortment of games and local whiskies if you fancy a night cap. From Glasgow there are trains and buses to Arrochar and if you are driving it is easy to find with the House on the main road. Recommend going for a walk up the Cobbler or walk over to Tarbet where there are excellent views of Loch Lomond and boats across to the far side of Loch Lomond.
- Marcus, Glasgow
What a wondefull place to stay. We had planned to stay one night as we where on a trip arround Scottland. The same evening we changed our plans and stayed another night. Best B&B ever!!!
- Roland, Germany
A wonderful surprise after a day's cycling this B&B was so welcoming Detail of design and delivery by the owner is worthy of a top hotel yet the friendly welcome and feel of the house made it feel very personal Very clean, comfortable twin room with private bathroom high spec Relaxed in lounge stocked with books of the area, views of the loch and complimentary whisky Tasty veggie breakfast from locally sourced and home made produce Worth every penny
- Dale, Glasgow
First of all, B&B is not really the right word for this beautiful place. It is like a 4-Star-Microhotel with three beautiful rooms. We only stayed here for one night, but we will come back some day. We had a nice view over Loch Long from our room and enjoyed a complimentary Scotch in the fantastic drawing room. The breakfast was the best we got during our trip, too. We can highly recommend this outstanding B&B with its very lovely Hostess Kristina, who made us feel at home. Just make sure to bring some insect repellent - this little gnats are quite aggressive at the Loch. Thanks to Kristina, hope to see you soon!
- Johannes, Germany
Lovely welcoming hosts. Luxurious linens and such a comfortable bed. Thoughtful touches - homemade sweet treats in our bedroom on arrival. Homemade bread at breakfast time was especially tasty.
- Julie & Roger, Witney
Much more than a B&B. Felt like Lord Sugar had sent us after winning a round of the apprentice
- Dale, Glasgow
We had a great stay! So much so that we returned a few nights later for another stay Thank you
- John and Ginny, South Africa
What a lovely place to stay. Ashfield house has been recently renovated and taken over by Cristina, a very welcoming American host. The rooms are really comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, mostly local produce or made by Cristina and husband. You are made to feel part of the house as soon as you enter and invited to use the lounge and have help yourself to a wee dram. Location is very good for exploring. We will revisit. If you are bored Cristina arranges a beach cleaning group on a Sunday so take your wellies if you want to keep the shore clean. We will next time.
- Rick, Doncaster
A nice stay in a lovely setting, but really made though by great hosts in Cristina and Phil, who make you so welcome.
- Alex, UK
A great location overlooking the loch the house has been renovated to a very high standard but maintains its original character. It is difficult to think that you could find a better appointed B&B. Lots of nice touches, Cristina was very welcoming, breakfast was great, robes in the room, home made almond cookies etc etc....Cristina recommended and had the foresight to book the Village Pub for our evening meal - great choice. Ashfield House would be top of my list for accommodation if we were again in the area.
- Kath, Preston
We stayed in two very spacious rooms that were well equipped with everything we could think of. The landscape around the house is stunning and we had some relaxing walks (and more challenging hikes) despite the mixed weather conditions. Cristina and her husband were lovely hosts who made us feel at home and gave us valuable advice where to go and what to do. Breakfast was simply delicious! Thanks for making sure that we could spend two wonderful days in the region!
- Julia, Stuttgart, Germany
My wife and I stayed for one night over the bank holiday weekend at the end of April 2016 on a tour around the Loch Lomond area. Ashfield House was perfect - Cristina was an excellent host providing everything you need. The whole house has been very well renovated providing a great spot to unwind after a long day with a stunning view of Loch Long. We would most certainly stay again and recommend it to anyone.
- Rob, Teddington
Absolutely lovely. Ashfield House is a charming place overlooking the loch. Easily one of the nicest B&Bs I've stayed at in Ireland and the UK, with little touches from the plush robes hanging on the back of the door to the complimentary, serve yourself scotch sipped in the guest room. We stayed the night as a waypoint between the Isle of Skye and the Lake District; when they heard we were interested in hiking, they pulled out personal books about the region and scanned us some pages. Highly recommend.
- Jessica, Dorchester, US
Welcoming and friendly. Nice touch with the welcome drink and homemade seeded flapjack and almond snacks. Great bacon for breakfast.
- Eileen, Chichester
I do not know what superlatives I will start to describe Ashfield House; fantastic, quiet, nice, fresh, luxurious, friendly, beautiful, thoughtful. It feels like everything in the house is newly renovated and the top layer. It is an old and well-preserved house that was renovated with love. The rooms are large enough, with a great view of the water and mountains. When you crawled into bed one felt like a king with really good quality bed, duvet and pillows. Fantastic breakfast with home-made jam and eggs from a nearby farm. In the room there was a dish of homemade cakes. The entire experience can be summed up with: love and genuine concern. Here we will stop if / when we are passing next time. Thanks Cristina!
– Mr M, Stockholm
Beautifully restored and furnished, spotlessly clean house, made to feel very welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Very good value for money as comfort standards very high. We stayed a night on the journey from Skye to Yorkshire - a perfect half way point which lengthened our holiday and made the journey enjoyable rather than a chore.
– Catherine, Skipton
Top-quality, fantastic rooms with great interior. Spoil yourself with a stay here and the very friendly owners.
– Niclas, Stockholm
Very friendly welcome, attentive hosts and lovely and clean and comfortable. Impressed with the quality. Would definitely stay again when in the area. There are plans to extend the breakfast menu which sound interesting!
– Chris, Cumbria
It is a privilege to meet people like Cristina; such kindness. It was more like staying with friends than booking into a guest house. Cristina will do everything to make your stay, not just in Ashfield, but in the area, enjoyable. One tip I can give, vegetarians, order breakfast.
– Chris, Towcester
Keep up the good work. It's nice to know you have a great place to stay after a long and tiring trip.
– Jenny, Stoke on Trent
Ashfield House B&B is ideally located at the top of Loch Long with excellent views down the Loch and of the mountains to the East and West. Geographically, it could not be in a better location. The start of many of the walking tracks are within a stone's throw of the front door with easy access to circular walks to Loch Lomond and the main path to the top of the Cobbler. Cristina has done an excellent job in renovating Ashfield House and fitting it out with quality furniture and accessories. We particularly enjoyed the guest room which was cosy, warm and inviting. The bed room was particularly comfortable and light. The bathroom was supplied with quality towels and toiletries. There was an excellent breakfast menu which included kippers; a favourite of mine that was not offered in any other B&B in which we stayed during our recent tour of the highlands. Thank you Cristina for your help and attention and good luck to you for the future of your business.
